Title. In multiplayer, the max amount of people I can have in a party is 3 people (in the multiplayer menu it says something like "1 Player [3 Max]"). I believe this is the reason why I cannot have custom multiplayer matches with more than 2 of my friends - out of us 5, only 2 people can join up (which I think is because of the party limit of 3 people). How do I increase this to say, 8 players? In zombies the "party limit" is 8 people but the actual limit for survival mode is only 4 people...

I found a similar post on these forums, but it didn't really help me - someone said "In the config there is a line that states player count", however I couldn't find such a config file searching through the folders on Windows File Explorer. Doing some digging around myself, the closest thing I could find were 3 files named "user_common", "user_mp" and "user_zm" (I assumed they were the "closest thing" according to this site which pointed to "user_sp" being the "actual" config file, however since Plutonium doesn't have an SP mode I assume that's why I can't find "user_sp" in the files). All the "user_" files that ARE available are encrypted however, so now I'm back to square one...

Pluto doesn't support "parties" afaik and the custom playerlimit on zm prolly doesn't work in private matches.
If you want to play with multiple people just set up a dedicated server.

Oh yeah, I know you can't actually have proper parties in Plutonium, just I thought that 4 of us being able to play together on ZM and only 3 of us being able to play together on MP might have to do with the apparent 3 player party size limit on MP. I just didn't want to have to run my own server to get around this issue. Thanks anyways.

Edit: Just to be clear on how we're able to play together, we all have that Hamachi VPN thing and so using that, I would start up a multiplayer match using the "xpartygo" console command then I'd get them to join the match using the "connect [my ipv4 address]:4976" console command.

Edit 2: Just found the "party_maxplayers" DVAR. Typing it into the console followed by a number (in this case, 5) while on the MP menu changes the "1 Player [3 Max]" thing to "1 Player [5 Max]". My friends aren't here yet, so hopefully when I play with them later, it works...

Well it should work thought i've never tried it with that many ppl, usually dedi is the better choice for 5+ players. Doesn't hamachi have a limit of 5 ppl in the same room now without buying their premium service?

Dss0 Yup. But since my online friend group only consists of 5 people anyway, it's perfect. I'll come back here and report if it works.

@DL-BBALL Yep, party_maxplayers 5 should do the trick for custom games

                Yup, it worked! Very nice.

Edit: just so anyone reading this at a later time knows, once you type in “party_maxplayers [NUMBER]”, you’ll have to wait a few seconds before the max player number changes in game!

Hi there! Do you know if this way will work for a private ZM match? My party is usually 5 as well, so I was wondering if you tried it also there? In case it doesn't work, will a dedicated server allow 5 players at once in ZM?
