bo1 ps4 controller stops working.

Why my ps4 controller stops working when I accidentally disconnect it in game? gamepad stays enabled all the time and ds4w software is running all the time. i have had to reinstall the game now 6 times and this is making me wanna cry. what changes when the controller disconnects? steam is closed so it wont affect to this.
now im at point again where my controller is dead but the touchpad works and i can shoot with it and throw nades etc. but not a single button works. so imma need to reinstall the game all over again.
and to make it clear, always when i install the game again, the controller starts working until i accidentally disconnect it in the middle of the game... on mw2 and all other cods the same controller works just fine.
