Friend is not able to hear, other players gunshots, boards being repaired or zombies

Hello! I am playing waw zombies in plutonium with a friend but he is having audio issues. He claims (as said in the title) that he cannot hear gunshots of other players nor can he hear the zombies or boards being repaired. We have tried looking through his audio settings but everything is set to the correct output. any help would be appreciated
