Slow map downloads

When I join a server that is on a map I don't have, it downloads typically in 3 or 4 parts, but the download speed is incredibly slow. It is about 560 KB/s, when my normal download speed outside of the game is about 30 MB/s. Why does this happen?

SirDylan because the server has slow upload speed or capped it intentionally so it doesn't cause lag for the people playing.

Dss0 okay thank you. Is there any way to download the map externally then?

Find the map somewhere and download it. Some of them are on the forums and others aren't
Or ask the server owner to provide the FastDL link and download them manually outside the game through regular browser download maybe, might be able to see the URL in the console when joining maybe
