screen freezes

Does it happen on all servers or just ones running with mods?
Does it unfreeze after some time?
Does the console show any error messages?Xerxes yes, it happens on all servers, but there are some servers where i can play more than 2 games without freezes, but it happens too
And i tried to wait a little bit and no, it doesnt unfreezes and the console not show any error -
Hey, this is also happening to me pretty constantly. I'll go into detail: I launch Pluto, open IW5, and choose any random server (Particularly, it's happening a lot in HGM servers in which I have very low ping.) and hop into a game. At some point along that first game, and it could be ANY time, like just after joining, twenty minutes after joining, when the game is about to end... it will crash. The screen freezes for around 10 seconds; then the "Plutonium has crashed" message will appear with the options to either wait for it to fix itself (never works) or just to close the program.
So I close it and open in again. From there, maybe it won't crash again for the entirety of the play session, or the problem described above will repeat between one and three times, sometimes four. Importantly, there is always a "last crash"; after which, the game will stop crashing and I can play normally for one or two hours.
I have two theories as to why this might be happening.
- It's a 12 year old game. It's bound to crash a couple of times. Nothing we can do about it.
- Maybe it crashes when the internet connection stumbles??? I play through wifi and it can get pretty stanky from time to time.

Resxt So far, I've had it in basically all vanilla maps and Nuketown.
GoldenPandoria It happens to me on the same servers. I play many games on HGM servers but i cannot do anything to fix it. Ive always have to open task admin to close plutonium because i wait to unfreeze but it never happens. So when i open again, i can play 2 matches without freezes, and sometimes, 4 matches but at least, it freezes again.

DaveStradlin Does it also happen to you that, when the screen freezes, the sound keeps going, like, the ambient sound? I was JUST playing a game and it crashed, but the Dome background noise (wind) kept playing. Just thought that might be relevant to the problem.
Honestly, I think this might just be that the game is very old and prone to crashes, lol.

GoldenPandoria right, i hear the ambient sound but i cannot play. I think the same, its very old but it doesnt happen with BO2 :c

Now im playing a match and when im shooting, it freezes. Its my first match today and i feel a little bit angry. It doesnt happens with BO2. I'll post a screenshot of the moment it freezes.
My question is that. Have i select the files of the MW3 dedicated server on plutonium server? Or from MW3 multiplayer? Because i have selected the dedicated, but like on BO2 it doesnt happens and is from BO2 multiplayer, i thought using MW3 multiplayer files, it wont happen.

DaveStradlin looks like a PC issue idk. Try this:
- Update GPU drivers
- Install DirectX even if it's installed
- Cap your fps to your monitor hz with
com_maxfps 60in console

Resxt i have GPU drivers updated and directX, so i'll try to cap fps and i'll comment again as soon as i see if it fixes!

Resxt i did everything and it freezes again. GPU drivers updated, DirectX 12 and i used this command to cap fps.

And yes, i tried a lot of servers and it happens in all. My ping depends of the servers. Sometimes i have 130 but my internet is good so normally i have 40 ping -
Hey y'all. Just dropping by to let you know that, following Resxt's advice, I updated my GPU drivers and the crashes stopped happening...
Except when I stream the game through discord. Any idea what that might be about? In any case, updating the drivers helped, so thank you!

GoldenPandoria ok same. I've been playing like 8 matches and no freeze, but on the next match it happens again. I close and open again and on the first match, freezes. Idk what to do to play without any issue :c

At this point i dont think is a PC issue. Today i reinstalled MW3, i optimized with GeForce Experience, because it shows and error on MW3 MP and i have to open it on steam and now i dont have any error on GeForce with MW3. I played like 7 matches and when i started the next one, it freezes. Now idk what could i do. I dont have this issue with BO2. I can play all matches i want without any issue.
