Discord moderators setting penalties for none of the reasons of the server
-
Im take part in discussions in the server quite a lot i would say and just now Evan/Eve has muted me for 3 days without warning or reasonin behind it.
You can just look into the latest messages made by @stainathome and youll see that i have not violated any rules.
A guy was suspected of piracy, but i wanted to think more critically about it, since there could have been ways for him to have not pirated the files.
Reason for my objection being that i also didnt use Steam to download the files.
My home WiFi sucks and i wanted to play Black Ops II the same day so i had my brother sign into my private steam account and load the games onto a USB stick for me.
So he did that and i wanted to play BOII with some guys i had met.
I didnt know where to store BOII at to play via the plutonium launcher, so i asked what path my friends used.
We watched a couple of videos together in order to play some Modded lobbies such as BO II's Tranzit Remastered and they told me to put the game into folder this and that.
I did it the exact same way that my friends did so i assumed it was the regular proceedure. So because of that i thought the guy in chat who was being accused of piracy was maybe not a thief.
I wanna still partake in chat activities so can you please unmute me????
(side note, i have had past encounters with Evan and hes ... lets say... not been exactly helpful.)
I want to see the OG CoD community flourish and dont want to see innocent people being pushed away.
... damn this is stupid
Much love to all the Staff and mods, even to evan who disrespected me in chat just now.

i dont wanna get banned for standing up for myself though

You have been warned multiple times in the past regarding piracy, I don't see how you can claim to be muted without a warning. Especially since you yourself are acknowledging that it is a piracy related topic.

If he were not a pirated he
A) could say so himself and prove with a screenshot from Steam.
B) would not run into the issue as Steam does install what he was lacking.
C) would not have multiple folders names after our old torrents.ThotBuster69420 said in Discord moderators setting penalties for none of the reasons of the server:

All of our staff are volunteering in their spare time, we all do have our lifes, jobs and / or university to do, if all that time is spent dealing with pirates there isn't a lot of time left for anything else. Same reason why we don't spend any more dev time on fixing the current top 20 issues caused by user error (mostly again caused by pirates), so we can actually get useful features like better security and modability.

Then you would not support any piracy or even defend a suspected pirate to not give ACTV any reason to brand Plutonium a piracy client and shut it down. Also real support could be given instead of spending our limited spare time on dealing with pirates who are too cheap to buy something but also too fucking stupid to pirate a handful files and fulfill some simple software dependencies.

Yes, agreed.

Hey Xerxes!
It obviously was a piracy related topic, because the person that i argued with did accuse the person of piracy.
I wanna ask you though, why was i muted?
Putting yourself in my perspective, what does the 3 day mute do for me except keep me from playing the game with people?
I dont fell punished for what i did, because my intention was not a bad one. i was not part of the community at the times where piracy was an option, so i wouldnt know that t6_full_game was the format the old Plutonium used for the files.
I copied the folder path from other people for security of the game working and me not having to ask my brother to retransfer the files to my USB, so i basically thought it was normal to use that folder path.i admit guilt, but that guilt was caused by lack of knowledge.
But i get it that it can be annoying dealing with piracy.
No need to just mute me for 3 days tho...The "piracy related topics" of the past were not piracy related at all.
Some mod just muted me and claimed i sent illegal files, although that NEVER happened.
Back when i had my old (and better) PC, i used to family share my games to ppl who would be willing to play with me.Some of the mods seem to just Cut all hairs over the same hair brush it seems.
EITHER WAY!
Won't happen again.
much love Xerxes,
