The DLC maps will only show up if I launch bo2 with plutonium right? I have a steam copy of bo2, I got the DLC through the torrent, and they don't show up when I launch the game without plutonium. I'm only asking because I want to make sure that it is necessary to make a purchase if I want to use reshade with the DLC maps before buying them and realising I just didn't install them correctly.

I suppose a similar question goes for bo1; if I want to use mods with DLC maps, will I have to make the purchase through steam, or is it possible to use the DLC files provided by the torrent?

Basically Steam games only load the base game then check for your owned DLCs and load the files accordingly. If you don't own the DLCs your files will be completely ignored.

Otherwise everyone would/could crack DLCs by simply getting files from the internet. It would be weird if a huge platform like Steam, in 2022, had their DLCs cracked by simply putting DLC files in your game.

Installing DLCs from Plutonium only gives you DLCs on Plutonium.
It doesn't affect your game on Steam in any way

Do you need us to draw it for you with crayons?
We don't provide any game files, and without you having the DLC files you can't access any DLC content.
