Game crashes when joinng friends

Hey, my friends and I were trying to play some custom zombies on Plutonium.
My friend enabled UPnP and port forwarded also according to the guide, his NAT shows up as Moderate and mine as Strict. Whenever I try to join him through the friends list my game just crashes, same goes for him.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, been stuck on this issue for 2 days.
