Game failing to launch, tried almost everything - unsure what problem is

Hi, been trying to get pluto working since I've been wanting to go for some zombies highrounds, but for some reason whenever I click play the following happens:
- The console window for plutonium will open, but nothing is entered whatsoever, and it closes within 5 seconds (or less) with no error or crash log being given
- The plutonium launcher itself closes shortly after (which I presume is normal)
- Steam detects that the game is running, but it never actually opens, and after a minute or two it stops and acts as if the game was never launched
The game launches completely fine without plutonium, but I wanna use pluto since it fixes some of the issues with zombies such as the reset times being shorter than console etc.
I've tried almost every fix given in the other forum posts, such as reinstalling DX, reinstalling both the game and plutonium itself, checking my antivirus, changing compatibility settings with plutonium's launcher (to almost every option), running plutonium as admin, installing the redists provided in the launcher support common issues thread, trying alternative redists provided in the support channel in the discord, repairing my game files, double checking the selected folder in the launcher, pretty much everything under the sun, but it refuses to work. I'm not using any third-party AVs, and I've already allowed plutonium and any subsidiaries (the bootstrapper along with the launcher, etc.) yet this hasn't fixed anything either.
The game has previously worked in the past, and nothing has changed on my PC or with my game files since when it was working flawlessly - it purely just stopped working out of nowhere. When everything closes, there is no crash log or no console log created and no error message is given, it just acts as if the game was never launched in the first place.
I've asked around in the discord in the support channel and have looked for anything similar in the forums, but haven't managed to find anything that exactly matches or fixes my issue - any help would be great!
