Obscure ADS issue

Wassup fellas. I have been playing for quite some time now with some friends (coop zombies) and one of them had this weird issue with ADS of not being able to do so since the character would try to ADS and almost instantly snap back to hip firing. He had recently noticed the issue seems to present itself only on the Renaissance mod, althought I have vague memories of myself having this issue on vanilla BO1 on Plutonium.
PS: He apparently fixed it today. He first tried re-binding the key for ADS, which worked, but if he changed it back to right click, the issue would come back. He then tried to screenshare the issue to me and, just as he did, the issue got totally fixed. We think it may have been something to do with minimizing the game while on fullscreen since BO1 has really weird interactions with minimizing while fullscreen, but we still arent sure, and the solution persisted even after game reset
We aren't sure if this somehow is a permanent fix or a temporal one, but I wanted to post about it if anyone else also has it and if someone knows why is/was it caused, because it is pretty annoying
