cant load mods on waw

every time i load a mod it takes forver to load or download then it jjust freezes it does the same thing when i play solo and i used to have a pirated version and i actually bought a legal copy of the game and it still gave me the same issues i really wanna play waw but it keeps doing this and its really frustrating i need help guys plz hmu asap
