Can i play modded servers in a private party

i wanted to play modded servers like town with extra perks and guns. or even tranzit. but i want to play with friends that are from a different continent and it's impossible to find a server that has the mods that we want with a decent ping. is there any chance we can play those modded servers by downloading them and applying them in a private lobby to solve the ping issue
