Black Ops 2 sprint command not working properly on Keyboard

My friend and I are struggling to figure out why his sprint button (Or any other button he remaps it to) isn't keeping his character sprinting for the normal amount of time in game. This is happening in Multiplayer predominately, but may be happening in Zombies as well. We tried restoring button defaults, and also make sure to restart the client multiple times, the same problem keeps persisting. He even rebound it to a mouse button, still has inconsistent sprint times.
Is this a known common problem with the client?
