Booting BO1 on steam deck and only showing logs

I boot up Plutonium through game mode, and when I click the multiplayer option, it only shows a black screen with logs. I can hear the intro music for the game, so I know it's open in another window, but I can't get past the log screen.
When I boot up Plutonium in desktop mode, it works fine, but then when I enter a game in multiplayer, I can't move. I can shoot and look around but can't physically move (hence why I'm trying to get this to work on game mode)
Also, when I use "PLAY IN LAN MODE" it bypasses the log screen but I can't load up any multiplayer servers on the browsing list (even when I click refresh multiple times)
I just want to be able to play multiplayer with my steam deck ideally in gaming mode (though I'm happy to do it in desktop mode if there is a fix to my no moving problem)
Is there any way around this?
