Mouse flicking / jumping wildly
-
Using cachy OS, KDE, wayland, and lutris
Mouse polling rate is 500hz, dpi 800. Hyperx pulsefire haste 2
Issue was not happening on windows
Basically I can shoot in a straight line no problem, but when I need to move / aim, it moves in a completely unpredictable way. You can see in this video that it's jumping around like crazy and makes it almost impossible to play.
In the video, I lowered my dpi to 400 to make it clear that I wasn't just playing with a crazy high dpi and moving my mouse around.

tried:
- lowering polling rate all the way to 100
- x11
issue persists

i think this person is having the same issue

tried enabling gamescope through lutris. plutonium launcher pops up extremely magnified and then crashes soon after. won't fully close and cannot be stopped
lutris error when trying to stop:

HUGE thanks to astrocule in the plutonium discord for making this script and walking me through my issues
this is finally FIXED!!
leaving post up so that hopefully someone else can fix their shit too
reminder that if your setup differs from mine, you may have issues. flatpak version of lutris for example was giving me a hard time.
- cachy os
- kde
- wayland
- lutris from pacman
go here: https://lutris.net/games/call-of-duty-black-ops-ii/
install the one at the top that says plutonium version
say YES to both prompts, one asks if you're using wayland and the other enables NTsync which fixed the mouse jittering
finish the installer
u good !
-
i should add that there are 2 different script installers built into lutris when you search for "plutonium", but neither of them ask about wayland / ntsync and didnt work for me. the one in the link was great.

new issue, kind of giving up but documenting for any future linux users that this might help lol
didn't change anything since playing last, it was working great.
logged on to my pc today, tried to boot it up, and it automatically launched with intel UHD (cpu) graphics
noticed that it was laggy, closed the game to switch to my gpu and this happened
basically using my gpu keeps resetting the executable and won't let me launch the game at all. no idea why. really bizarre issue
