After starting the game, the music plays, but then, after a few seconds, it stops playing. Also, when I try to load a zombie map, the game freezes during the loading screen and starts using a lot of my CPU. I'm on CachyOS.

These are recent bugs. In the past, they didn't happen on my Linux PC.

maybe its because Plutonium is outdated.. Checked the files?

if you didn't then i recommend you uninstall and reinstalling Plutonium Just incase it has missing files
      if it still doesn't work

      Windows key + R
      %Localappdata%Plutonium
find BO2 files on Localappdata and delete them
      then uninstall and reinstall
idk if this works but just try it it sometimes works

      hope i helped 🙂
(btw tryna get to 3 reputation so i can help more people and upload more stuff so if you want to you can upvote)

if it still doesn't work i recommend saving up money for a new laptop or PC

I checked. I'm on version r5328 of Plutonium. That's the latest version as of today. I'm not on Windows. In my first post, I said I'm on CachyOS.

I tried that, but it didn't work. Still, thanks for offering help.
I figured out a way to fix both bugs I talked about in the first post: change the compatibility tool from proton-cachyos-11.0-20260602 (steam linux runtime) to Proton Experimental.

These bugs are fixed in one of the latest proton-cachyos dev builds, which means a future stable version of proton-cachyos might contain the same solution to the bugs I experienced. 😃

I can't post a link that leads to more context, because I don't have 1 reputation, but I can say you'll find it in the proton-cachyos GitHub repo by searching for "[Compat]: Plutonium COD WAW Main Menu Music Stops Playing and Game Freezes When Loading Map".

That's issue #236 in that repo.
