    Hey everyone,

I’ve been thinking about a concept that could honestly breathe an entirely new life into the Plutonium T6 (Black Ops 2) ecosystem. We all know how incredible the movement, gunplay, and overall "feel" of BO2 is—it’s peak Call of Duty. On the other hand, Warzone brought a revolutionary gameplay loop, with Rebirth Island being arguably the most beloved map and pacing in BR history.

What if we bridged these two worlds? What if we brought Rebirth Island into Black Ops 2 Plutonium?

Here is why this makes perfect sense from both a player and developer perspective:

    1. The Ultimate Low-Spec Battle Royale
Right now, modern Warzone requires a beefy PC, takes up hundreds of gigabytes, and is poorly optimized. Black Ops 2 runs on a potato. By porting or replicating a Resurgence-style Rebirth Island map into the T6 engine, we would create the most accessible, high-performance Battle Royale on the market. Millions of players with low-end PCs who are priced out of modern Warzone could finally experience the rush of Resurgence at a buttery-smooth 30+ FPS.

    2. Merging the Best of Both Eras
Imagine the tactical pacing of Resurgence, but with the legendary weapon sandbox of BO2. No modern bloat, no broken meta attachments—just pure, skill-based gunfights, classic killstreaks, and the iconic BO2 hit markers on a map designed for non-stop action.

    3. A Sustainable Monitization Model for Plutonium
To make this viable and worth the developers' massive effort, Plutonium could introduce a dedicated cosmetic/skin system specifically for this mode. Since it’s a custom mod, devs could design and sell custom weapon camos, character skins, or operator blueprints—mirroring the Warzone storefront model. This gives the community a tangible way to financially support the devs and keep the servers running long-term.

The Activision Elephant in the Room:
We all know Activision can be strict with IP. To keep this safe, the project shouldn't rip raw assets directly. Instead, it could be branded as a "Community Resurgence Mod" with a custom-built or heavily adapted map that emulates the layout and essence of Rebirth Island without using copyrighted names or straight-ported modern meshes. Think of it as a passionate homage built inside the T6 engine.

This would be a massive technical undertaking, requiring map optimization, player-count adjustments for the T6 engine, and UI tweaks for the looting/respawn mechanics. But if any community has the talent to pull off a definitive, lightweight BR experience, it’s the Plutonium scene.

What do you guys think? Would you grind a BO2-infused Rebirth Island? If any map modders or coders want to discuss the feasibility of a proof-of-concept, let’s talk in the replies!
