Steam Account Link Help!

I'm having a couple of issues with playing Black Ops 2 Multiplayer. I tried to log into my old Plutonium account (for which I used before I linked my steam to Plutonium) and I ran into issues on boot of the game. I got an error message (verify steam game files one) which I have completed multiple times, to no avail. I thought maybe it was a bad pathway, but it isn't.
I thought it would be due to not having my steam account linked with Plutonium, but every time I try to link my steam account with Plutonium (through the client) I am given an error message - Steam account already linked with another Plutonium account.
I don't know how it could be linked elsewhere, any help would be greatly appreciated. -
your issue is not because your steam account is not linked. did you buy that steam account used? if not, then you linked it to another account and just forgot
if you did, then it may have been linked before you bought it.without seeing screenshots of the actual error, it's tough to tell, but you'll like need to make sure you actually have multiplayer installed (and not just the base game).
