eXothicc Are you certain windows defender is disabled?

Also check to see if you have any of these:
SONAR RADAR, SONAR STUDIO, GAMERSFIRST IV, NAHIMIC, ADVANCED SYSTEMCARE ULTIMATE, PREMIER OPINION are some of the programs that cause issue, uninstall them if you have them.

H3X1C Yes, i am sure it is disabled

The only program close to that would be Driver booster, i've uninstalled it and tried launching the game but the issue persists

eXothicc I can only assume it is your antivirus. Even whitelisting is not enough for some antivirus softwares. Could you try uninstalling it?

H3X1C Ah yes, i uninstalled Sophos and restarted my PC and i can launch the game, windows defender currently in use and causing no conflicts so i guess there is an 80% chance it was my antivirus, even though it was disabled and the folder/plutonium bootstrapper was whitelisted,

Thanks for your time and assistance!

eXothicc It was the antivirus. I would be suspect of an antivirus that doesn't disable when you disable it...

H3X1C Indeed, well the software was recommended to me by a friend that works as security, the program never wronged me before,

Regardless, I've marked the thread as Solved, if it's any bit of help, feel free to use any info from this thread for your FAQ.

Sorry to bump - just saw this post. Been trying to get WAW and BO1 running thru Plutonium for weeks and was tearing my hair out. I use Sophos and, like the OP, added folders and exe to Exclusions.
So there really is NO other way other than removing the AntiVirus that I paid for, just to play COD.
Can I simply turn Sophos off, and then back on once finished playing - or should I completely uninstall and maybe go with another Anti-Virus provider? (no idea which ones are decent tbh)

Your antivirus is so bad that even adding an exclusion to it doesn't work, this alone is enough to uninstall it already

Windows Defender that comes free with Windows is really good. There is no need for the average user to ever pay for an antivirus
