Can't play LAN on my local network

So me and my friend have been trying to play Zombies LAN for like a week now, nothing works, first of all do i need Radmin VPN?, (we're on the same network), and how do we connect together?, when we launch the LAN mode his name doesn't appear in the FRIENDS tab, is there a specific way to play lan?, please help.

Hisko you don't need radmin if you're on the same network and ofc there is no friends tab as this relies on a connection to our backend. You connect via the console by typing

connect hostip

Where the hostip is the ip of the pc hosting the match (you get your ip by opening cmd and typing ipconfig)
The host has to start the match and be ingame before anyone can connect.
