The launcher overwrites all my custom files

I'm trying to add custom guns in iw5 and change the login images, but every time i open the launcher to test it, it reverses all my changes and returns to default. for example, i tried changing the common.lua to have a function for a custom gun im tring to add, but it deletes that function and says there was an attempt to call a nil value.

Xx_Phoenix_xX you're not supposed to modify those files. You can load modified textures via the images folder in %localappdata%\Plutonium\storage\iw5.
