I'm confused on how you're supposed to get the DLC maps

I have bought the game on steam and just remembered recently about plutonium, so I got plutonium and I'm loving it, but anytime I try to play on a dlc map (Like Studio, vertigo, etc.) the game comes up with an error saying I couldn't connect. So I searched up the issue and someone had a response come up talking about loading specific torrent files and such. So I tried what they said to do and it didn't work at all so I assume I'm just a dumbass and probably need a more in depth explanation on how to do it.
