Plutonium and Linux

As you might now, there is a rising amount of Linux users in the desktop market share right now, and Black Ops 2 uses Valve's CEG DRM so it cannot be launched with Proton.
I think it would be a great idea to package Plutonium with Wine for Linux users who want to download it, since it isn't possible to run it with standard wine. Because of an authentication error and a crash on startup. So a lot of Linux users would gain access to Black Ops 2. You can actually run it with Lutris Wine 5.6+ but it requires some workarounds and Steam for Windows.
If you guys think this shouldn't happen because of the low market share, that's fine. If you do this, awesome!

This may be something we will look into after the next T6 update, as we've basically re-written the client so alot will change, hence there is no point looking into it at this very moment.
It's great to see Linux becoming more mainstream in the desktop user share

Mr. Android Thank you for this answer. I hope someday it happens. Because, Black Ops 2 actually runs great, but when you think about all the hackers and whatnot, the game itself currently isn't even that great on any platform without Plutonium.

Looks like the crashes could be due to missing dependencies.
The last version of the launcher was compiled against dot net 4.8? Please let us know so we can install the right version and try again.
EDIT: Ok looks like 4.8 fixed the dependency crashes and the launcher starts fine, can login and select the game folder. Unfortunately the game crashes on start. I'll open a new topic under BO2 client support.

i just moved ubuntu recently and i'd love to be able to play mp and zm again -
Some guys actually got it running, it's however not officially supported.
