Playing coop campaign

Hello, I have an issue when I try to play with my friend in coop. I can actually host the game and my friend can join but whenever he does he falls out of the map and dies making us unable to progress. We've tried using devmap in order to allow cheats and be able to noclip so we he can come back but using that method is extremely glitchy as it was not intended for coop. Also, my upnp is enabled in my router settings however the game plut console still displays it as disabled. Is there any way to play the coop campaing properly?
