There are multiple fps limits, one controlled by the server and one controlled by the client.

MattyS That's just the default limit T6 uses for public matches.

Because why the fuck would a sane server hoster let you cheat with your FPS?

Xerxes What are you on about? You can't cheat with your fps, that's the most insane thing i've ever heard... No other game caps everyone's fps like this, which means that everyone who plays those games with high fps must be cheating. And another thing is that literally a few months ago the mw3 plutonium was updated to use a beta version of the game so you would be able to reach higher fps. fps cap is pointless and stupid and is just gonna stop people from wanting to play.

JezuzLizard Is there any chance you can get it fixed?

MattyS The game becomes unplayable above 200 fps. For example, it allows you to take less fall damage if your FPS is above a certain value. You also can't climb stairs anymore if your FPS goes too high. These are just 2 examples, there are way more bugs with high FPS in this game. For this reason the developers (treyarch) limited the FPS to 200 in online play.

Server owners can change this value if they want, we're not gonna remove it by default. These bugs are really hard to patch because they affect the core parts of the game engine.

I've just played a game with 333 and it was perfectly playable. even with uncapped fps i can climb stairs. the engine is the same as all the other cods. if you keep it capped because of things like this why have you got mw3 and waw uncapped when they have the same problems?

and if you wont uncap it because of bugs, why don't you just have it capped by default but allow people to uncap if they want to but provide a warning?

MattyS why have you got mw3 and waw uncapped when they have the same problems? they do not have the same problems. These games only have minor bugs when your FPS is high. BO2 eventually becomes completely unplayable. Put your resolution on the lowest value, put all your settings to low and start nuketown in a private match. Then try to jump out of a window. You will see what I mean.

We will not remove the FPS cap from BO2 until these severe issues have been patched.
