infinite "joining game session" (fixed)

hello, I tried to join a public server yesterday and I kept getting "joining game session" for around 5 seconds then nothing happened, I checked port forwarding and stuff and every thing seems fine, any fixes?
update: I fixed it via updating plutonium, it didnt say it had an update though, strange
