Can't make online profile

Hi. I'm new to this entire thing and these forums so apologies if I'm asking a stupid question or asking in the wrong place, but I wanted to ask real quick to see if this would help with my problem. I just bought WaW on steam, but I can't create an online account in game. Apparently this has been an issue since at least some point in the middle of last year according to my searching, and some have suggested using Plutonium to fix it, and I just wanted to ask, will using Plutonium with my steam copy of the game fix this problem, or will it not? Also, I'm haven't checked, does this issue also exist with Black Ops 1? I got that alongside WaW and I haven't tried it yet so I don't know if it has the same problem. Thanks in advance for the help!

HaunterInTheDark Plutonium removed the profile system completely, we use Plutonium accounts instead. You just hit Play and play.
I didn't see reports the Steam BO1 had that issue but if this is part of your question BO1 is coming to Plutonium soon -

HaunterInTheDark Yes we are the only way, to my knowledge, to play WaW online if you bought the game after the period where keys ran out on Steam.
We very rarely give ETAs because the devs work on their free time but for BO1 we plan on releasing it around may of this year. -

I just bought a copy to make my own server and ran into this problem, my CD-ROM version saves my settings per profile does plutonium do the same thing?? I absolutely do not want to be changing resolution and textures every time i boot the game...
