[HELP] Play custom zombie with friends on T4 (WAW)
-
Dss0 Ok so i tried it with and without charging the mod map, the game crash in the two option.
I typed : fs_game mods/Clinic Of Evil;vid_restart;map mp_sanatorium;xpartygo
Clinic Of Evil for the map folder name, sanatorium for the console command map name.
If you have any other idea i take it, maybe we should search why the game start thinking i'm offline when i charge a mod into it ??
Thanks a lot for you help btw, i think it will help a lot of other people if we found a solution for this problem, bc i search on Google and YouTube and nobody know why it's doing this..
-
Minasteritt can you send me a link to the map/mod you're using so i can test? I think the "offline" thing is just caused by those modified menus that come with the map.
-
Dss0 Clinic Of Evil : https://www.ugx-mods.com/forum/map-releases/29/release-clinic-of-evil-updated-05112018/11551/
Requiem : https://www.ugx-mods.com/forum/map-releases/29/manager-ugx-requiem-v1-1/8824/
PS : You need UGX Map Manager for installing Requiem.
I'm really touched by the time you spend to help me, you have all my love for real.
-
Minasteritt yea so that way won't work. Only way i see this working is via the private match/lan play option they put in the menu, idk if all maps have this tho. In clinic of evil you can go to cooperative -> host lan, you then need to change the mode to zombies in game setup and start the match via
xpartygo
your friends also have to load the mod and then should be able to connect to you via ip (https://www.whatsmyip.org/)
connect yourip
for this to work you most likely have to forward port 28960 udp tho. If you don't know how: https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-port-forward-4163829
-
Dss0 Hi there sorry for the late response.
So i tried to port forward but the problem is i'm not able to put the "28960" value on the External port, only one the Internal port.
I'm able to put the "28960" value on both only if the protocol is on TCP, not if it is on UDP or TCP/UDP.
Do you think i can put something like :
Internal port : 28960
External port : 28959
Because when i do it there is no more conflict, enven on TCP/UDP.
If you have any explanation i take it, thanks for your time..
-
Minasteritt you don't need to set an external port, that's fine. you also shouldn't set an "external ip" if you have that option. All you need is protocol, internal ip and internal port.
-
Dss0 Ok, it's asking me that i must put a value on the external port anyway, what value can i put in it that don't change anything ?
-
Dss0 What's your name on the Discord ? I just join it maybe i can send you a picture of what i did and the error, my name is KD
-
Minasteritt well it should be the same port.. if you use a different external port nobody will be able to connect. what if you only set external and not internal? which router do you use?
-
Dss0 Ok i understand the thing.
There is already a rule in upnp that put 28960 on both port (it's Plutonium rule who make it automaticly), that's why i can't create an other one.
I think there is no possibility, to solve it..
-
Minasteritt well if that's there then it might already work. upnp is basically automatic port forwarding. Test with your friends.
-
Dss0 I juste tested and it's not functionning
I don't know why it's doing this only on mods game, did that worked on your side when you tested ?
-
Minasteritt so just to be sure: you loaded the mod, went to lan play and started a match via xpartygo then your friend also loaded the mod and tried to join you via the friendlist on the F10 menu? it timed out?
i didn't test connecting to the match.
-
Dss0 Yes that's what i did and my friend always get the message "The server you tried to join is not ready. Try joining another server."
What i did is (correct me if i made shit lmao) :
Start the game > Load the mod > Coop > Host a game in local networks (PS : no other option are available since the game think i'm offline) > Select the Zombie mod & map > Launch with "xpartygo"
Then my friend join and get always immediatly this error (there is no loading screen, the error message instantly appear)..
-
Minasteritt yea it might just not be possible then.. host a dedicated server instead.
-
Dss0 Do you know how to do that ? Do i need to buy a server ?
-
Minasteritt no you can host at home https://plutonium.pw/docs/server/t4/setting-up-a-server/
-
Dss0 Ok so i found how to play with friend on Custom Zombie, hope you can create a topic to explain it because that's a really awesome unknown guy on Discord who helped me to figure it out.
So, step by step :
-
First, be sure that each players have the modded map they want to play together installed.
-
Second, charge the mod. When it's done, go to Cooperative > Host LAN, there choose the map in the options if necessary.
-
Third, open commands with the "²" button (if you can't, make sure you enabled it in the game options), then type sp_minplayers (Number of player between 2 and 4), for exemple, if you want to play as two players, type "sp_minplayers 2").
-
Fourth, type in command "xpartygo". There, you will be locked in the loading screen until all the players joined the game.
-
Final step, the player who want to join need to charge the same modded map, then type in command "/connect IP Adress of the player who launched the LAN:28960"
You're welcome, and much thanks for your time again Dss0
-
-
Minasteritt so the only thing we didn't do was set sp_minplayers before?
-
Dss0 Yes, by default it's always set on "sp_minplayers 1", what a all mess just because of that, that's almost humoristic x)
