do password-protected servers even work?

i tried setting a password in dedicated_sp.cfg with numerous commands:
- g_password "pass123"
- password "pass123"
- set g_password "pass123"
the server console reads that i have set g_password correctly to "pass123" but upon testing, no password prompt is brought up upon joining and random players are still joining just fine. is password-protection in T5 functional?

KavoGaming i dont understand what you mean. are you saying i should specify as password without a command before?

Xerxes I see password protected servers on T5SP(ZM), so things changed i guess, i added set g_password in the cfg and in the server list it say it is protected, but then everyone can join
