Missing CFG file error (FIXED!)

trying to play BO2 multiplayer on plutonium, after launch i get a message saying-
"Error during initialization:
Missing config file "default_mp_controls.cfg" during initiliazation. May need to add to code_pre_gfx."
I've verified game files within Steam twice, resetting the directory for the client itself does nothing, just tryna play my favorite game mannnn

FIXED! (for Steam users): If you're having this problem there's a good chance you JUST downloaded Zombies, and never the multiplayer version, download the multiplayer version and then rerouting the directory in the client fixes the issue.
