Mw3 Forum Avatar as Emblem

I've been trying to set my emblem to my forum avatar using the button ingame but it doesn't seem to change, I just get the standard emblem. The post regarding this feature is really unclear if you don't know what you're doing.
How would I go about doing this manually?

Just press the button, it will go to the FNG emblem but in game it will show up. Try killing yourself a couple of times and you'll see it appear.

@Mr-Android i have the same issue and i tried what u said and it doesn't work

Forum avatar only show up in a actual match. In menus and private game it only shows as a dog tag. So if you want to see your avatar, you'll have to get yourself killed to see it.
