might be caused by a corrupted basegame as well. Try force rechecking it if you got it from the torrent or if its a steam download, download this torrent (qbittorrent recommended) and point the download to your BO2 folder and deselect create subfolder, and let it finish. Should verify your installation.

So I fixed my problem, and turns out i just needed to disable my firewall and antivirus and then it started working, then i turned it back on again straight away and it still worked after that.
