Question regarding Ban

So a friend tell me about this so while playing Gmod, i make download the launcher, make account download the game from the torrent. Launch the game and see all the sever, decided to change setting due to wrong resolution. Save setting and get back at find sever, see notification to press F10 to open sever browser instead, press F10, sever list empty. Quit game and try to launch/login again but i got the message that i got banned?

Eianir not possible for gmod (or any other unrelated software) to trigger a ban, the only thing that can trigger a ban is software that actively modifies plutonium process memory (for example an injector or a actual cheat).
