Issues connecting to private match with friend

My friend and I have been trying to play a private match in zombies and keep getting errors or infinite loading screens. We have tried everything on this thread https://plutonium.pw/docs/custom-games/
And also made sure all of our custom game settings were the same.
My friend gets the EXE_CLIENT_FIELD_MISMATCH every time and I get a never ending loading screen every time.

Business_goose_ which difficulty have you set the game to? Try setting it back to the default easy setting if you changed it.
