Does the Fire staff still bug out on high rounds?

So, to the people who have reached extraordinarily high rounds on origins, or the bonus survival maps where the fire staff is available, can someone confirm is the fire staff still absolutely nukes your game like it did back when bo2 was the current game (yes i realize it was still there after, just a generalization to get the point across). I got really close to that round in a server on the crazy place survival map, and it got me thinking, cause i was pretty dang close to round 70, which is where it started to bug out.
