Is it truly necessary to save the game in Drive (C:) - Games?
I would like to save my game in another drive since C:\ is reserved for Windows. Can I just make a Games folder in my other drive instead?

I have it installed on my D drive, so I don't think you need to install it there

Yes. Basically you can put the game files wherever you want as long as it's not in Desktop/Downloads/Documents and similar locations.
