How to join a server that doesn't have FastDL setup?

I've been having some issues setting up the FastDL for a server for me and my friends, and I've noticed a few times that it seems to be optional. I'm not entirely sure how I would disable FastDL or connect without it, could anyone give me some help?

Hjbpenguin when people connect to a server that run a mod they must have it installed on their OC too.
FastDL only checks if they have the mod and if they don't it downloads it from your server given that you have setup FastDL correctly.FastDL is easy to setup and if you're new to it and it's for friends only I'd recommend using simple software like a Python web server.
It's disabled by default. It's just a few lines in your server cfg
