Low fps spikes when playing with friends

Hi yesterday I got plutonium and played with friends all day, not a single problem everything ran smoothly. today we tried playing and for some reason we are just lagging horribly and it goes all the way down to 5 fps, so yeah you could see the game being quite unplayable. I'm pretty sure it's not a network issue bc our pings were all very low. why would it randomly start doing this? when I played solo it ran perfectly smooth, I don't understand.
I have a NIVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 16 gigs of ram
my processor is the Intel Core i7-6700k CPU 4.00GHz
Windows 10 Home 64 bit Build 19044My nat type in game is open, along with my friends as well
