Everyone can join dedicated server except myself

i set up a dedicated server on my own machine and followed the steps to port forward, everything works well and my friends can find and join my server just fine. except i can't, not with the server browser nor with "connect 127.0.0.1:28961". i see other people making threads about this problem too. is t5 really just that buggy

@tac0cat connecting by ip doesn't work on t5. you may not be able to connect because your router doesn't support wan loopback.

i hope the developers will implement IP joining in t5, the server browser itself is a hassle to navigate and unlike t6 does not show the current round either.
