zombies co-op bug?

Last night I tried to play Five with a friend. On my screen he was swapping between a knife in hand and throwing grenades. On his screen he had the ray gun, ak74u, and a 3rd gun (I can't remember what it was) straight from the start of the game. We restarted our games and got the same results. Has anyone else had this happen?
