Controller not being able to be bound

I'm tryna use my PS4 controller (using Xoutput to let it work) and it doesn't let me bind buttons.
Like I don't know if I'm just pressing the wrong buttons or if it doesn't work but in the controls menu, I can't set anything.
Anyone got a fix?
