I cant find my friend on plutonium

Me and my friend hoped that we could play some zombies so i have tried to add him. But for some reason every time i type his name, it just doesn't show up with anything. I have even tried other methods so that we can play together like joining the same server or commenting on a post so that we can see each others profiles but it seems like on my end that he doesn't exist and on his end I don't exist. Please help
