I try and play on LAN mode, I do all the steps the guide says. We're on the same LAN network, he types the command connect (inserthostipv4here) and gets a "connecting" wheel forever.

Sleep1ng5erpent if you don't mind higher ping, get any cheap or free VPN (Proton's decent), and connect that way.
