I've been having issues changing my graphics settings in mw3. When I apply the settings to the game it begins to restart. But then freeze up only to completely crash and brick my system. Of which I have to restart my pc. I noticed it happens when I change any settings in the 'Advanced' settings.

Change your video settings without crashing the game (borderless windowed)
Make sure your game is closed before doing that.
Go to where your Modern Warfare 3 is installed and go in the players2 folder.
Then open plutonium.cfg with the notepad to edit it.
Find r_displayMode and change it to be like this (you can use ctrl+f to search for it):
      seta r_displayMode "windowed (no border)"

Resxt It now crashes with the bootstrapper not responding before ultimately giving up. But it hasn't stopped my system so there's that

@ABlooBean you did it with the game closed right?
          Also what is your antivirus?

Resxt I managed to get it working. I just fully restarted my pc and reset the settings and do it again. Not sure why it happened the way it did
