Don't Understand FovScale

Hey Y'all,
I've read up on basically all the material about the cg_fovscale command and I still am not getting it. I'm just trying to match my ADS sensitivity to my general sensitivity with a FOV of 100.Maybe I'm not getting it because I don't have a foundational understanding of commands in Plutonium but whatever the reason some help would be greatly greatly appreciated!!

In video settings > graphics make sure sure Fov sensitivity is enabled

So I've got that enabled, but even when I enter commands from the quality of life changes on https://plutonium.pw/docs/qol-changes/ or whatever versions of those commands I calculated that applied to my situation, the field of view would either be really wack, or the ads sensitivity would still be significantly lower - even if it is at least different.
