Added Plutonium files, play game using VAC servers - safe?

If I added Plutonium files to my legally-owned Black Ops 2 folder and play on official servers, could that result in a VAC ban? It includes the replacement and addition of files and I'm not sure if Steam will pick that up and consider it bannable.

Plutonium does not modify your files and no Steam won't ban you for using Plutonium. Steam only loads files you own (the game, DLCs if you own them). It doesn't even scan the other files in the folder
