timescale command does not work

Essentially, my problem is that when I was running a private game with sv_cheats on and messing with commands on the console, I found that the timescale command did not work. I would type, for example, "timescale 0.5" and hit enter, and no change in game speed occurred. When I began typing timescale again to see it's current value, it was still 0.5.
It should also be noted that I was using the IW5 Bot Mod. But I don't see how that should affect timescale.

If I remember correctly the devs said they didn't plan to unlock timescale features for mw3
