Game crashing when controller is disconnected.

Hello, I've been having an issue with my dualshock 4 controller and BO2. Everytime my dualshock 4 disconnects while the game is launched, it will freeze up and then proceed to crash. This is a very big issue for me, because my dualshock 4 USB is very finicky and disconnects when it's even slightly nudged. I use DS4 and I make sure to disable steam every time I play this game, and I've never had this issue with anything else before on my computer. I've only ever been able to find one other forum post with this same issue, but it seems like he was never able to find a solution. Thank you in advance for any help.
