This isn't even a remake. You're more than welcome to host other servers that aren't dedicated to trickshotting. We have a guide on how to do it.

You can blame the overflow of console peasants coming to PC to relive the 2010 era for the amount of trickshotting servers there are, and the people who have like 20 of them open to capitalize on that.

There are enough non ts servers, even decent ones with more than 3 maps in their rotation, just grab a friend and they will fill up.

insanetoker89 a lot of the servers are trickshot servers because people who trickshot will play any cod no matter how old if it's good for trickshotting, people who play it regular like tdm or whatever would just rather play newer cods

insanetoker89 This game is really good at certain times, but I can agree the game is in a terrible state right now.
Warpzy, Faze Rain, Faze Adapt, and Faze Jarvis had to go around promoting people to cheat and telling them the cheat names, so now you can't even play a game without half the lobby spinbotting. For some reason there are "zombies trickshotting servers" (why is that a thing please help me).

I would just play zombies for now as that has the most fun, multiplayer is pretty much only trickshotting and the only actual servers are filled with hackers.

IW4mA's anticheat does a really good job, it's just that servers with it don't fill up so easily anymore for some reason.

To address a few points;

Various clan's, such as AWOG and NameLessNoobs run non trickshot servers. It's not our problem you can't search. However the upcoming update allows you to filter them out.
As others have said, it isn't a remake, it's a mod to allow dedicated servers and better modding options.
The project picked up popularity whilst in it's 'offline' patch state, it takes time for us to update it to a stable state after it being dormant for 18 months. IMO opinions should be reserved until we have brought the updates we'd like to bring. However we all work for free in our spare time outside of work, so this takes as long as it takes.
