Frame Rate Problems: Capped at 30 FPS + Stuttering Issues + Audio Constantly Breaks Out + More...
-
Hey, I'm having problems with the Frame Rate on Black Ops 1. When I'm on the main menu, I'm getting 60 FPS, but when I hop into a game, I drop down to 30 FPS and I'm capped there. Most points, I completely drop down to a staggering 15 FPS every time I hop into a game, and when it drops under 30 FPS, my game and the audio starts to stutter and glitch out, even with low graphics. I don't have this problem with CoD Ghosts and Advanced Warfare, which runs the game at 60 FPS. Also, the FoV Scale is broken, as you constantly have to change to the scale through the console every time you join a game or a map rotation because it resets to 1 (default). The FPS problem has been plaguing me ever since I started playing, and I have my graphics set to low, shadows, anti-aliasing, and shader warming off, and VSync on. Is there any solutions to these problems?

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with the frame rate in Black Ops 1. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to improve your FPS:
Update your graphics drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your graphics card. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause performance issues in games.
Verify game files: If you're playing on PC, use the platform (e.g., Steam) to verify the integrity of the game files. This process checks for any corrupted or missing files and replaces them if necessary.
Disable VSync: While VSync can help reduce screen tearing, it can also limit your FPS. Try disabling VSync in the game settings or your graphics card control panel to see if it improves performance.
Adjust in-game settings: You mentioned that you've set your graphics to low, but you can further experiment with different settings to find a balance between performance and visuals. Try disabling any unnecessary features like ambient occlusion, depth of field, or motion blur.
Close background applications: Make sure you don't have any resource-intensive programs running in the background while playing. These programs can consume system resources and affect game performance.
Check your system specifications: Ensure that your PC meets the minimum system requirements for Black Ops 1. If your hardware is below the recommended specifications, it may struggle to run the game smoothly.
Regarding the FoV Scale issue, unfortunately, I'm not aware of any specific fixes for that problem in Black Ops 1. It's possible that it's a known issue with the game that hasn't been addressed by Activision. You may want to search online forums or communities dedicated to the game to see if others have found workarounds or solutions for this problem.
I hope these suggestions help improve your experience in Black Ops 1!
